In the Home Stretch!

  You have a firm deal and are in the home stretch!  

  But there are still some things to get organized.  

All conditions in the contract have been met and the property is now officially considered sold. In the time before your closing date, please consider arranging the things mentioned below early for a smooth transition.

• book a moving company (if required)

• schedule utilities hook-ups/disconnections (ie: power and internet). This can sometimes take a few days so arrange early.

• it’s recommended to arrange mail forwarding to avoid missing any important mail. When approaching the closing date, also update the mailing addresses on all mail/billing accounts.

• inform your doctor’s office about your address change. Ensure your medicare card mailing address gets updated too.

• if you have children, inform your kids’ schools about the change of address

For moving day, have a special box that is set it aside from the other moving boxes. Use this box to put all immediately necessary items into (ie: some toiletries, medications, change of clothing or work clothes, etc.). This will save you opening all your boxes searching for a few important items on that first day or two.
